Rosa M. Cruz was born in Canòvanas, Puerto Rico on August 15, 1936, to the late Ramon Cruz and Maria Luisa Navarro. She was the oldest of 11 children.
She is survived by her sons William Ortiz, Rafael Ortiz, Miguel Angel Ortiz, Jaime Ortiz, and daughter Diane Ortiz. She had 13 grandkids and 17 great grandkids.
She lived the last 25 years in Orlando, Florida where she came to live with her daughter Diane, son-in-law Roberto and their two granddaughters.
Rosa enjoyed baseball and her two favorite teams were the Tampa Bay and the Red Sox. She also enjoyed playing Dominos and Bingo with her family and friends. Her favorite food was Carrucho and her favorite singer was Marco Antonio Solis El Buki.
Rosa peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the age of 89 in her home in Sanford, Florida while holding her daughter’s hand.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation for all that was done to help us during our time of loss. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, calls, text messages and other acts of kindness.
Visitation is Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with funeral service on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Winter Park Chapel), 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, Florida 32792. Followed by the procession and burial at Queen of Angels Cemetery.
