Rosa Esther Franks

Rosa Esther Franks, 89, of Rosman, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC. A native of Greenback, TN, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nona Bradley Ramsey and the wife of William Edgar (Ed) Franks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. She was a member of Rosman Pentecostal Lighthouse and she loved reading, sewing, walks in the woods, and many hours were spent in her flower garden. Mamaw, as she was known to her family, was loved by all and will remain in our hearts forever. Fly high our beautiful butterfly until we meet again at Heaven's gates. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ed Franks; their daughter Patricia F. Thorpe and husband Michael of Brevard, sons Jack E. Franks and wife Rose of Brevard, and William C. Franks and wife Maria of Rosman; 5 grandchildren: Adriane Thorpe and husband Scott Barlow, Colby Franks and Miranda Franks, Kara Franks and Katie Franks; and six great-grandchildren: Penelope Barlow, Jackson Barlow, Brennan Vaughan, Kameron Vaughan, Talon Lance and Noah Miller; sisters Edith Dobbins and husband Jerry of Sapphire, Mary White and husband Robert of Hot Springs, and brother Samuel Ramsey and wife Vickey of Rosman. Funeral Services for Rosa Franks will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Rosman Pentecostal Lighthouse with Rev. Berlis Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Whitewater-Montvale Cemetery in Sapphire. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Rosman Pentecostal Lighthouse.
