Rosa Mireles Obituary

Published by Forest Lawn - Cathedral City on Apr. 11, 2022.
Rosa Mireles of Indio, California passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on Monday, April 11th, 2022. She was born in Brawley, California to Ciriaco and Celia Frando on January 19, 1955. Rosa attended Brawley Union High School and was a well-rounded student athlete. She was Secretary of her freshman class, Vice President of her sophomore class and was a member of the drill team, basketball team, and volleyball team. She relocated to the Coachella Valley shortly after graduation. Rosa was a numbers person who started her career at Bank of America. She eventually moved on to work in the finance and accounting department of California Redi-Date, ultimately becoming their Financial Operations Manager. Rosa loved spending time with her two sons, her grandchildren and her pup, Charlie. She would often tell her sons that Charlie was their brother! Charlie lived like a king when it was just the two of them living at her house. When her sons were younger, she enjoyed attending their baseball games, basketball games, and band performances – she was often the loudest mom in the stands, cheering her sons on with pride. Back home she wouldn't hesitate to give her sons advice on how to improve for their next game or competition. In her spare time, Rosa loved to create and maintain beautifully landscaped back yards and could often be found out back tending to her plants. She was a firm believer that plants had feelings and that they needed to be loved. She found working in her yard to be therapeutic and relaxing but also enjoyed sharing her space for her grandchildren's baby showers and birthday parties. She loved family get-togethers. Rosa will be, and should be, remembered best for her unwavering determination in fighting cancer and, eventually, dementia. She maintained her resolve until the end, often beating the prognosis of doctors and nurses to squeeze out just a bit more time in our world. Well done, Mom. Rosa is survived by her sons Mike and Adrian, her daughters-in-law Kristen and Cara, her grandchildren Ethan, Madisyn, Zoey, Zachary and Skyler, her brothers Jesse, Eliseo, Jr, and Carlos, and her sister Celia. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 45118 Park St., Indio, CA 92201. Burial will take place on May 11 at noon at the Coachella Valley Public Cemetery, 82925 52nd Avenue, Coachella, CA 92236. Guests are encouraged, if possible, to wear something lavender or light purple – it was Rosa's favorite color. UPDATE: There will be a gathering immediately after the cemetery service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 51990 Javkson Street, Coachella CA 92236. It is across the street from the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, guests are encouraged to make small donations in Rosa's honor to one of the following charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: https://www.stjude.org/donate/pm-step.html?frequency_selected=0&sc_icid=impactgiving-donate-bttn-top&amount=x Alzheimer's Association: https://act.alz.org/site/Donation

My heart aches for Rosa.
I always hugged her and a kiss her
And called her my favorite sister in law.
She always treated
She treated me with love and respect.
I always admired her for how much she accomplished in her life. She loved every body she met and she let us know with her beautiful smile characteristic of her.
After her cancer diagnosis she asked God to let her live long enough to see her first born ,Mickegraduate from College. God granted that wish, not only that but he let her live long enough to see her second son graduate from higher education.
She was a loving grama.
She will always be in my heart.

My beautiful Tia is resting now. She gave it all she could to stay with her family. She had perseverance! Now she leaves us with all the beautiful memories. We grew up together, and eventually we even became neighbors. It was great to have her near by. All of our holidays were filled with fun and laughter. She is forever in our hearts and never forgotten. I miss you so much Tia, and I love you.

I am very sorry to see my youngest sister go. I love her very much. I am the youngest son of my mom’s first marriage so I spent a lot of time with her. I am a great believer in education so I started to teach her when she was three years old. I wanted her to grow up along with an education. I was proud of her when she and my mom went to Sacramento to compete in a spelling bee. Rosa, you will always be in my heart.

It has been a pleasure to know Rosa and have her be part of my family life! I am not an actual blood relative. But she made me feel like one! I always felt her warmth and sincerity. I feel sad that the last years of her life were filled with medical hardships. Yet, I know that the majority of her life had so many beautiful moments. I missed not seeing her in the past few years as did my late father. In the end, they are happy, blessed, looking upon us as we continue our lives. She was truly an amazing professional woman when they few! My parents always made sure I knew how amazing her accomplishment were. My condolences to her family, I know losing an extra amazing parent is very difficult.
