Rosa Pizzano, 71, of Weston, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Vito R. Pizzano.
Rosa was born in Ariano Irpino, Italy, on February 21, 1954, to the late Ottone and Carmela (Cardinale) Corsano. Growing up on a farm in southern Italy with her five siblings, she cultivated a strong spirit and deep-rooted values. Rosa and Vito married in 1968, embarking on a journey that led them to the United States, where they settled in the vibrant community of Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, New York.
In 2013, Rosa brought her warmth and creativity to Weston, having previously lived in Rockland County, NY. She cherished every moment spent with family, radiating joy and laughter while forming meaningful connections with those around her. Rosa's self-taught skills reflected her creative nature, and her passion for cooking was a testament to her love for family, complemented by her eye for fashion and home.
Rosa is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vito, and her two children: Maria Flynn and her husband, Michael, and Paul Pizzano and his wife, Tanya. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Christopher and Sara Flynn, as well as Ava and Jack Pizzano. Her legacy continues through her brother, Antonio Corsano and his spouse, Carmela, and her sisters, Anna Melito and her husband, Luigi, and Maria Petrillo and her husband, Lello. Rosa was predeceased by her brother, Giovanni Corsano and sister, Yolanda Donati.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, located at 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass honoring her spirit will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Saint Mary's Church, 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Entombment will take place privately.
