Rosalee Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home on Feb. 23, 2026.
Rosalee Johnson, age 64, gained her wings on February 21, 2026. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all who shared her love and light. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Rosalee was born on March 14, 1961, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late John Henry Davis and Rosa Davis. Although born in Spartanburg, Rosalee spent her formative years in Aiken, South Carolina, where she attended East Aiken Elementary School, Schofield Middle School, and later graduated from Aiken High School in 1979. Rosalee went on to marry the late Emmitt Johnson and resided in Augusta, Georgia, before relocating back to Aiken, South Carolina. She worked at R.E. Phelon, where she became a pillar of the community. In her later years, she worked as a cashier at Walmart, where she shared many smiles and lots of laughter. She was loved by all she encountered, just as she loved everyone around her. In her free time, Rosalee enjoyed spending time with family, especially her Uncle Wallace. She loved to cook and take care of everyone around her. She was truly someone special. Rosalee was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, and siblings, Tyrone Davis, Rose Davis, Lamont Davis, and Paul Davis. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two children, Tobias Johnson and Swantavia Johnson; three grandchildren, Justice Johnson, Journee Johnson, and Universe Johnson; four siblings, Micheal Oliphant, Paulette Foreman, Vanessa Holston, and acquelyn Wright; uncles, Johnny Johnson and Wallace Johnson; aunts, Elizabeth Ryan and Minnie Green. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends who will continue to cherish her memory. Special thanks are extended to Terkeshia Anderson, Latrice Shell, Keyondria Anderson, and Capri McDonald for their love, care, and support.

I will miss my Buddy. She always had a laugh for me. She had the most beautiful soul. I never saw her mad because if she was she turned it into a joke. I will miss you Girl Walmart will never be the same. So rest easy and take your rest. To Chocolate who was her greatest joy. She loved you sooo much.
