Rosario Cortez Balandran

Rosario Cortez Balandran was born in Durango, Mexico and was a longtime resident of Lakewood, California. She passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 90, on June 15, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Rosario was a devoted wife and mother who always prioritized her family. She raised her seven children, then was fortunate to help raise many of her grandchildren. Rosario was an avid gardener who loved growing roses and could spend hours at the local garden center looking to add to her garden. She attended weekly bible studies, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was an excellent cook who loved preparing meals that would bring her family together. Rosario had the biggest, sweet tooth and she loved to indulge in her favorite desserts.
Rosario will be greatly missed by those who knew and cared for her. Her family takes comfort knowing she was greeted at Heaven's gates by her husband Ramon Balandran Sr. of 68 years. She is survived by her children Eva Amador, Rosaura Henderson, Alicia Arriola, Ramon Balandran Jr, Maria Gomez, Juan Balandran, and Angelica Florez; 4 son-in-law's, 1 daughter-in-law, 18 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
