Roscoe R. "Mutt" Hall, 91, of Baytown, formerly Dayton was born March 20, 1918 in Shepherd, TX and passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was retired from the ExxonMobil Refinery. He was a huge Astros fan and enjoyed woodworking, traveling, antiquing and camping. He also liked gardening and especially liked rock hunting and making jewelry from rocks that he found. He was a U. S. Army Air Force WWII veteran, and was involved in the program development for the first nuclear bomb ever used in combat that was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan by the B-29 Superfortress named Enola Gay. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elyette Hall; wife, Cecil L. Hall; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters and is survived by his daughter, Becky Jenkins of Mont Belvieu; son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Rosalie Hall of Newalla, OK; grandchildren, D'Ann and Mark Schimming of Baytown; Cory and Keyla Hall of Rockwall and Brian Hall of Norman, OK; great grandchildren, Alexandria McNabb and Joshua and Brandon Schimming; and numerous other family members. His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, May 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Habermehl officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Hall, Cory Hall, Mark Schimming, Joshua Schimming, Bubba Murphy and Roy Hall.
