Rose Ann Angelakos, 98, died December 29, 2025.
Rose was born in Raritan, NJ on Aug, 23,1921. She was the daughter of Julia Stabile and Thomas Benedetti. She was predeceased by her husband, John Angelakos of 50 years. Also, predeceased by two brothers, John and Andrew Benedetti, and her sister-in-law Mary Caldwell. Survived by nieces Marie and Rita Benedetti, nephew Tom Benedetti, and honorary niece Georgette Boulegeris.
Rose lived with her mother and two brothers, and her mother's family, the Stabiles, grandmother, grandfather, two aunts, and uncle in Raritan until she married John Angelakos in 1970, when she then moved to Somerville. She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan until her move to Somerville upon then she joined Immaculate Conception Church. She had many family members, friends, and nurse aids that cared for her and loved her, including Maxxie, Delia, Yolanda, Elsie, Mariann, and Analyn. One of her many blessings was when she became home bound was her weekly visits from Deacon Frank Quinn of her church, bringing her a gospel reading and the Holy Eucharist. Another Immaculate Conception Blessing was a volunteer from the St. Zitas Society, Terri Molesko, whom she called on frequently for help. Rose and her husband John Angelakos enjoyed spending time at their summer home on Long Beach Island. She was an avid NY Yankees Baseball fan. Rose and her husband enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and the Giants Games together on the TV. Rose also enjoyed sailing, needle work, and reading. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Prayers will be 8:30am Tuesday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 9:30am mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave, Somerville. Interment will follow at New Cemetery in Somerville.
Visitation will be 2-4pm Monday at the funeral home.
