Rose Lee Boehs

Funeral services for Rose Lee (Nichols) Boehs will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Fairview First Baptist Church at 405 E. Broadway Street in Fairview, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
On February 24, 2025 our beloved mother, Rose Lee (Nichols) Boehs peacefully went home to be with her Lord. At the time of her passing she was residing at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Rose was born on October 23, 1937 to Ruben and Pauline (Nightingale) Nichols at their home in Major County. She was the third oldest of seven siblings. Mom married her best friend and love of her life, Marvin Boehs on February 16, 1958. They enjoyed 63 years together before Dad's passing in 2021. To this union they welcomed three daughters, Renee, Marlinda and Desiree'.
Mom and Dad lived in Isabella, Oklahoma when first married and then moved out to the farm west of Ringwood. Growing up, mom attended the Standard School and graduated from Fairview High School. As a young teenager she came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. She often talked about her faith in God.
Before Mom was married, she worked as a waitress. After marriage she worked for the Isabella Post Office until they moved to the farm west of Ringwood. For over 35 years she worked for chiropractors in Fairview and Enid as a receptionist/assistant. She loved this type of work and loved interacting with the patients. During this time, she was a constant help for Dad on the farm, driving the hay truck, taking care of the cattle, their catfish business and whatever else was needed. Mom was a hard worker and never could sit still for very long. One of Mom's favorite activities was bowling on a team league and traveling across the country to various tournaments. Mom was an accomplished bowler and collected several trophies and awards. She, also, enjoyed travelling abroad to several European countries.
Because of Mom's green thumb, she always had a nice garden, beautiful outdoor flowers, and thriving indoor plants. Mom enjoyed putting puzzles together, walking with her dog, brushing her cats, and watching the birds eat out of her feeders.
Mom was always quick to help others in need whether it was driving someone to a doctor's appointment, babysitting grandchildren or simply baking a pecan pie for a grieving neighbor. We, girls, will always remember the great effort Mom made to attend every one of our basketball games, dance recitals and cattle and horse shows. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and always looked forward to their visits and having long conversations with them. Mom was a cherished presence in our lives and her kindness, generosity, love and faith which touched so many.
Rose is survived by her three daughters, Renee (Randy) Heflin of Derby, Kansas, Marlinda Lamle of Ringwood, Oklahoma and Desiree (Bruce) Selby of Enid, Oklahoma; her six grandchildren J.W. (Amy) Heflin of Andover, Kansas, Tanner (Kelly) Heflin of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Weston (Courtney) Heflin of Derby, Kansas, Shanna (Layne) Button of Fairview, Oklahoma, Jacob (Kaitlynn) Selby of Enid, Oklahoma and Katheryn Selby of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her seven great grandchildren, Grace, Charlie, Karter, Emily, Mathis, Adler, Leif and with one great granddaughter on the way. She is, also, survived by her sister, Clara Jackson and sister-in-law, Oma Gay Nichols plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Boehs, parents Ruben and Pauline Nichols, siblings John Nichols, Alice Weed, Anna May Hoff, Willie Nichols, Lewy Nichols, and two nieces and three nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Division with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodian.
