Rose M. Dalton, 91, Deering, formerly of Glasgow, MT, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 in a Velva care facility.

Rose Magdalene Hellman was born on October 11, 1933, the sixth of twelve children born to Joseph and Margaret (Steckler) Hellman on the family farm near Gladstone, ND. She was raised with her siblings on the family farm.

When Rose was 18 years of age, she began working at a Café in Dickenson, ND. This would lead her into a lifelong career in the service industry, which she enjoyed very much and made life-long friends.

Rose was once married to Robert "Bob" Walter. He passed away in February of 1975. In July of 1979, Rose was united in marriage to Fred Dalton. They made their home in Glasgow, Mt, where Rose continued to work in the food service. He died in May of 1994. In 2006, Rose moved to ND to be closer to her daughter Debra and her family.

Rose will be remembered for her wonderful caramel rolls, her hospitality, and the love she showed her family. Rose was also an avid gardener and loved to can. She would go with friends and pick choke cherries, among other things and made all sorts of jellies and when a batch of jelly didn't turn out, her son-in-law used it as a syrup and so she would make sure she would always have to make more that way.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Debora (Keith) Christensen, Deering, ND; grandchildren, Toni (Marvin) Sanders, Glenburn, ND, Melissa Kraft, Palm Springs, CA, and Shane Christensen, Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren, Jayden Christensen, Wyatt Sanders, Osean Perkins; great-great grandchild, Reminton Svoboda; step great-great granddaughter, Rylie Svoboda; siblings, Margret Hedalen, Butte, MT, and Larene Hatch, Ashton, ID; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 9 siblings; 5 sisters-in-law; and 5 brothers-in-law.

Private family services will take place.
