Rose Ann Ditzler, age 70, peacefully passed away on September 14, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving wife of James M. Ditzler Jr. for over 21 years.
Rose was born in Pottsville, PA on September 25, 1954 and was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Maley) Kozlov. She was a life long civil servant for the United States government. Rose was passionate in her desire to help people. She volunteered in these organizations: Defense Logistics Agency FMWR Susquehanna, LEEK / SAVWA, Spring Grove VFW Post 5265, Boiling Springs Sportsman Club, and Feline Solutions. She was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church, Master Gardeners of York County, and The Hawk Gunning Club. Her favorite activities included folk art painting, gardening, baking and cooking.
In addition to her loving husband Jim, Rose is survived by her children Jennifer and her husband James Crone, Brandon Daugard, Timothy Ditzler and James M. Ditzler III; her sisters Faye Walton and Janet and her husband Walter Slifka; sibling-in-laws Carolyn Lengel, Judi Kassab, Richard Ditzler, John Ditzler, Jayne D'Attilio, and many other sibling-in-laws; grandchildren Dakotah Crone, Rosalyn Crone, Harrison Crone, Rosemary Crone, Braeden and his wife Dana Crone, Erika Daugard and Maxwell Daugard, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her best friends Mary Einsig and Colleen Lehr.
She was preceded in death by parents John and Lillian Kozlov, stepmother Doris Kozlov, brothers Raymond Edwards and John D. Kozlov, sister Mary Lou Kozlov, brother-in-law Harry Walton, and stepson Richard Ditzler.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Javeed Kashif on Monday September 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, PA., with visitation prior to the Mass at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 N. George St. York, PA. A luncheon will be provided after the conclusion of the burial in Monsignor Brenner Hall back at St Patrick Church.
