Rose Ann Doyle, age 83, passed peacefully into heaven on December 27, 2025. She was born on December 21, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, the beloved daughter of Howard W. and Vera (Brower) Liechti.
Rose married Leo “Jack” Doyle of Pinckney, Michigan, and together they built a life for 48 years. She was a proud mother to two daughters, Dawn Slanker-Faverman and Shannon Doyle.
Rose worked for many years as a switchboard operator for healthcare facilities and at the Charles E. Chamberlain Federal Building in downtown Lansing. After retiring, Rose and Jack fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Hubbardston, Michigan, where they lovingly restored a 1905 farmhouse and brought new life to a 10-acre farm. The beautifully refurbished farmhouse and iconic big red barn became home to horses, a goat, barn cats, and many German Shepherds they bred and raised. Rose had an enormous heart for all creatures great and small and welcomed any animal that needed love and care. Many cherished memories were made at that farm. When the work & upkeep became too much, they relocated back to Lansing, Michigan.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Dawn (David) Faverman of East Lansing, Michigan, and Shannon (Elizabeth) Doyle of Westland, Michigan; Granddaughter, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Mahoney; Great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Aurora; and her nephew, Billy (Annie) Gray of Ypsilanti, Michigan along with their children, Paris and Ashley. In addition to her family, Rose was especially devoted to her three beloved animals, Aiden, Tom-Tom, and Mia, who brought her daily comfort and companionship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Vera Liechti; her husband, Leo “Jack” Doyle; her brother, Howard “Sonny” Liechti; and her sister, Regina “Jeannie” Liechti as well as many beloved Aunts and Uncles. Rose was blessed with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who often gathered in earlier years for “lively” and memorable get-togethers.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 17th, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10601 Dexter-Pinckney Road, Pinckney, Michigan 48169. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
