Rose Foerster Obituary

Rose E. (Demarco) Foerster, affectionately known as Rosie, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born Jan. 16, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Rosie's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her boundless love for her family, and her commitment to her community.
Rosie was predeceased by her parents, Vera and George DeMarco; William Foerster, devoted husband of 58 years; cherished son, James Foerster; and her siblings, Joe DeMarco, Mario DeMarco, Norma Rape and Irene Hawkins.
She is survived by a legacy of love, including her children, Theresa Bogacki (Tom), David (Cindy), and Karl (Tracey); her grandchildren, Christy Rihel, Michael Bogacki, Greg Bogacki (Noemi), Matthew (Emmarie), Daniel, Julie Colwell (David), Leah Sheldon (Adam) and Eric (Julie Vietmeier); as well as her great-grandchildren, Zachary Barnett (Isabella), Seth Bogacki, Jeorge Rodriguez, Lucas Foerster, Samuel Foerster and Beckett Sheldon. Rose was blessed with two great-great-granddaughters, Finley and Freya Barnett.
A proud graduate of Perrysville High School, Rose's first job was working as the "popcorn girl" at the Perry Theater, where fate smiled upon her, and she met her beloved Bill, who also worked there. Later, she worked at the Bell Telephone Company, until her true calling came when she became a mother to her son, Jimmy, born with special needs. She dedicated 24 years to nurturing and fostering his spiritual growth, showing the depth of her love and strength of character.
Rosie's life was marked by her deep faith and active involvement in her church communities. Initially a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople, she graced the choir with her voice and served as a substitute teacher. In her later years, she attended daily Mass at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Cranberry Township and was revered as the family's Spiritual Warrior. Her dedication to her faith community was evident in her roles as a greeter, reader, festival worker, and rosary group leader. The priests of St. Ferdinand's held a special place in their hearts for Rosie's homemade spaghetti sauce and pies - a gesture of her love and care.
Her talents extended beyond the church doors. Rosie was an accomplished seamstress, creating beautiful clothing for her children and grandchildren, and generously donating infant clothing and baptismal garments. Her hands were rarely still, as they were often busy with her other passions - cooking, baking, and tending to her flower garden. Rosie's home was a sanctuary of comfort, always adorned with fresh flowers, the aroma of homemade soup, and the promise of chocolate chip cookies for all who entered.
Later in life, Rose enjoyed going to shows with her friends, including trips to the casino. Words like faith-filled, loving and friendly only begin to describe Rosie. She was a beacon of light for her family, friends and anyone who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Rosie's steadfast positivity, even in the face of life's challenges, was a source of inspiration to many.
Rose E. (Demarco) Foerster lived a life rich with purpose and love. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who knew her best. As we bid farewell to Rosie, we celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who was truly the heart of her family and a friend to all. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy of kindness, compassion and unwavering faith lives on.

Mrs. Foerster was such a positive role model. Her influence contributed to form a gentle side that helped me through out my life. I remember when she was the substitute teacher for Sr. Norma at St. Gregory´s second grade and she was teaching us to sing `Holy, Holy, Holy´ - never forget it. Also recall later when I was working at Reed Homes and Karl would invite me to his house for lunch - even though I had my own lunch she would always offer something more. A lot of great memories. Sending prayers for her and the family. May the perpetual light shine upon her.

My mom, Claire Dorsch and Rosie were great friends. I remember when I was very young how Rosie would come out to our house on Saturday evening and style my mom´s hair at the kitchen table for Sunday morning Mass. She would tease it so that I thought mom looked like a witch and then style it into a beautiful bee hive, laughing together all the while! Then Sunday morning they would sing in the choir together!

What we are all called to do, Aunt Rosie did. Always engaging, encouraging and full of life, she was the embodiment of joy. The intensity of her faith was reflected in the seemingly ease with which she carried out her mission among us all. Though this prayer giant is no longer with us on earth, she is now where she truly belongs in heaven.

This story goes way back. St Gregory was having a casino night and ask the 1st and 2 nd. mothers to take can can lessons from Theasa Redmond dance studio for entainment.we practiced for weeks in an empty hall . The big night came could not hear the music people in front and behind us. Rose s shoe flew off her foot.she did not miss a beat .it was a fun night I always admired her spirit. May she rest in peace and continue to sing in heaven.
