Rose E. Gillilan, age 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025. Rose's life was defined by love for her family, her friends, and the music that lifted her spirit. She spent 49 wonderful years married to the love of her life, Thomas "Bo" Gillilan, before his passing in 2015. Their song was When a Man Loves a Woman, and the devotion in those lyrics reflected the way they loved one another. Rose's greatest joy was raising her children and delighting in her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She had a gift for listening, truly listening, and offering comfort and support to anyone who
needed it. Rose revered rock and roll music and loved going to concerts. After losing Bo, she found solace in music, adopted her beloved dog Chloe, and embraced what she called her "ink therapy" (tattoos, plenty of them). She had a quick wit, a kind heart, and lived quietly but deeply, cherishing the simple moments with those she loved.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Bo" Gillilan; her parents, Paul and Bonnie Stonerock; and her sister Brenda Stonerock. She is survived by her children Thomas (Bernadine) Gillilan, Timothy Gillilan, and Shannon (Jeff) Schilling; her cherished grandchildren Julian Gillilan, Ayden Gillilan, Maci Schilling, Hannah Gillilan, Myla Schilling, and Molly Schilling; her loyal dog Chloe; siblings Jon (Johnna) Stonerock, Tina Cole (Everett Lott), Charlene Stonerock, and Rhonda Stonerock; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives who loved her. Family will receive friends on Monday, September 22, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio, with Pastor Timothy Lee officiating. Interment to follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, Ohio.
