Rose Marie Harris, 73, of Huntington, West Virginia, formerly of Ronceverte, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Born on May 10, 1952, in Gap Mills, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Frank Brown and Mary Ella Peyton Brown.
Rose was a proud graduate of Greenbrier East High School and the University of Charleston. She dedicated her life to caring for others as an accomplished nurse. Throughout her distinguished career, she was honored with the VA Administration Nurse of the Year award, five Superior Performance Awards, and served as Executive Director of LIMA, Inc.-an organization devoted to helping low-income individuals access essential prescription medications.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her daughter, Samantha Renee Harris; sisters, Martha Johnson, Roberta Wilmer, Lucy Virginia Walker; Anna Thomas and an infant sister and infant brother; and special nephews, Richard Walker and James Green.
Cherishing her memory are her devoted husband of 55 years, James Andrew Harris of Huntington, WV; sons, Isaac Andrew Harris of St. Albans, WV, and James Michael Harris of Huntington, WV; and three beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Gabrielle, and Jasiah Harris. She is also survived by her niece, Jeanette Walker of
Lewisburg, WV; a host of other nieces, nephews, godchildren, and countless patients whose lives she touched throughout her long and compassionate nursing career.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Reggie Jones and Speakers Jason Lunsford and Terrance Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Ronceverte.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
