Rose A. Bado Heitger, 79, of Carmichaels, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, in her home, following a brief illness.
She was born July, 27, 1943, in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late James and Mary C. Chiera Bado.
Rose was a 1961 graduate of Bethlehem Center High School and a 1962 graduate of Penn Commercial College.
Rose was employed as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of Greene and later retired from the Pennsylvania State Department of Corrections.
Rose attended Fordyce United Methodist Church and was a past member of A.F.C.M.E.
She enjoyed horseback riding, bowling and painting ceramics, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
On April 8, 1993 she married Gerald F. Heitger, who died April 19, 2019.
Surviving are three children, Sherri L. Whipkey, of Carmichaels, James M. Rankin (Eva), of Carmichaels and Robyn R. Marmie (Robert), of Rice's Landing; eight grandchildren, Lieutenant Commander, US Navy, Stuart W. Whipkey Jr., Taylor J. Whipkey, Raeanne M. Rankin, Kristen L. Parker (Ryan), Maria K. Rankin, Grayson R. Marmie, Gabriella R. Marmie and Giavonna R. Marmie; one great-grandchild, Riley Parker; one brother, Anthony Bado (Molly), of Manassas, Va.
Deceased, in addition to her spouse and parents, is one infant child, Gene Taylor.
Funeral arrangements are private, and under the direction of Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street, Fredericktown.

Rose has been a dear friend of mine since the early 1970´s. Her passing leaves a hole in my heart. I loved her greatly.
