Rose Jimenez, 88 years old of Houston TX, passed peacefully, January 4, 2026. Born March 1, 1937 in Rock Springs, Tx to Sabino and Maria Hernandez Velez. She married Matias Jimenez, Jr November 9, 1957. She was preceded in death by Matias Jimenez, Jr August 1st, 1984.
She was a dedicated Guadalupana for over 20 years at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mother worked at Blessed Sacrament collecting donations and worked the garage sales. And on Sundays, the Guadalupanas sold breakfasts to build the new Parish Hall. Mother loved to volunteer for the cooking. Homemade tortillas, carne guisada, beans and rice and salsa. Her love and dedication to the project was final and church parishioners appreciate the blessing. During mother's years she had many jobs. She was a nanny and a personal assistant to the Jones family. Later, a Day Care attendant, then custodian at Kelso Elementary School, where she met her best friend Carrie. During her employment at Kelso Elementary she took Ballroom dancing and she loved it. She traveled with her best friends. But, her true love was being a CCE teacher at Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed meeting and mentoring her students. After retirement from the Guadalupanas and Kelso Elementary she was gainfully employed by Dr. Young blood. Mother held her employment with Dr. Youngblood until about 10 years ago.
Preceded in death by her parents, Sabino and Maria Hernandez Velez. Two brothers and two sisters. John H Velez, Procopio Velez, Josie Castañeda, Patsy Quintero, Julia Quintero and grandchildren Sonny Perez, Anderson and Bennett Biddle.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters. Emma and Victor Quijano, Joe and Rosie Jimenez, Rose and Michael Ingles and Matias Jimenez lll and Bernadette Jimenez.
Grandchildren Eresma Quijano, Victor, ll, Quijano, Franselly Matus, Valerie Biddle, Christian Solis, Matias Jimenez IV, Robert Jimenez Louisa Jimenez, Mark Medina Jr., Megan Medina, Mallory Medina and Madison Medina.
Great-grandchildren Evelyn Quijano, Aiden Reyna, Grace Quijano, Catherine, Daniela and Emerson Biddle, and Keira Quijano, Matias Jimenez V, Ryan Jimenez, Brayden Hurtado, Makayla Medina, Gustavo Perez V, Gabriel and Robin Biddle and several nieces and nephews.
