In Loving Memory of Rose Marie "Mickey" Johnson
June 29, 1930 – July 1, 2025
With deep love and gratitude for her remarkable life, we announce the passing of Rose Marie Johnson, affectionately known as "Mickey," on July 1, 2025-just two days after celebrating her 95th birthday.
Born on June 29, 1930, in Orange, New Jersey, to Mary Couch and Harry Perry, Mickey lived a life rooted in love, family, and quiet strength. She was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence Johnson, with whom she built a warm and caring home. She was a loving mother to her sons, Marvin Johnson and Andre Johnson, a proud grandmother to Keyonia Williams, and a cherished great-grandmother to Keylahni Laysha Burnette.
Over the years, Mickey held various factory jobs, where she was known for her strong work ethic and gentle spirit. But her greatest joy came from being surrounded by family. Fiercely devoted, she always put her loved ones first. Whether gathered around the kitchen table or catching up over the phone, her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love.
Mickey nurtured each generation with grace, strength, and boundless affection. Her kindness was unmatched, her presence calming, and her love unwavering. She led by example-showing that true strength lies in gentleness, that family is everything, and that a life lived with love leaves an everlasting legacy.
Mickey also had a playful, spirited side and found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing pickets, testing her luck with the lottery, and was rarely seen without her beloved gold jewelry-each piece a reflection of her vibrant and joyful personality.
Her warmth, humility, and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Mickey was truly one of the kindest souls, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever cherished.
