Rose MacKinnon Obituary
MACKINNON – Rose (Royer) MacKinnon, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Francis "Mac" R. MacKinnon for 14 wonderful years and the late Raymond Royer. Born October 19, 1941 in Portland, ME; the daughter of the late Robert Caron and Josephine (Pierce) Coleman.
Rose worked as a Home Health Care Aide in the local Winsted area as well as more recently working at her grandson's family farm in Canton where she was the flower queen and loved making beautiful bouquets and chatting with customers. She always had a way with people and was known for her socializing while getting coffee. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing Bingo and going to tag sales. She also loved crafting and most of all, spending time with her family. She is already deeply missed.
In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by her children, Nadine Bristol and husband Daniel of Canton, Ronald Bessette of Winsted and April Bournival of Winsted; stepchildren, Dee McBride and husband Jack of FL, Steven Royer of GA, Rodney Royer of Winsted, Brenda, Robert, Peter, Doris and Regina; grandchildren, Kristina, Robert, Josh, Nick, Hope, Michael, Joseph, Corey and Adam; 10 great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Mattie. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Caron and siblings, Mary Hibbard and Clyde Coleman.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 2 – 4 PM with a short eulogy at 4 PM. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.

My sympathy goes out to the whole entire family. May you find comfort in time knowing that Rose will always be in our hearts.She is now with God and now she feels no pain and she is now in peace.
