Rose A. Pastewka

Rose Ann Pastewka, age 98, of Erie, was lovingly surrounded by her family when she passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. She was born in Erie on November 1, 1927, daughter of the late John and Mary Paszko.

Rose was a graduate of St. Benedict Academy. She was a founding member of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, where she volunteered in the library and was active in the Ladies Guild. Rose was an avid golfer, playing in weekly leagues in Erie and Florida, where she enjoyed wintering. She also enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and working in the yard. Rose remained very active well into her 90's. The family referred to her as the Energizer Bunny. She first worked at the Boston Store, and then at the Country Fair Corporate Office, doing payroll for over 20 years until her retirement.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Karen Pastewka; one sister, Therese Farbo; one brother, Charles Paszko; granddaughter, Jennifer Hall (Tony); three great-grandchildren, Asher, Joey and Sadie; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Pastewka; one son, Kenneth David Pastewka; one sister, Joan DiRienzo; and one brother, Leonard Paszko.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, on Friday, January 9th, at 10 am. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church Ladies Guild, 1553 East Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16510.
