Born in Beaumont, Texas, she was a daughter of the late James Monroe Willy and Sarah Elizabeth Dobbs Willy.
Mrs. Tidwell was a retired Ward Clerk at Tuomey Hospital.
Surviving are two sons, Tim Tidwell, and Erin Tidwell; a daughter, Colleen Floyd; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Desmond and a brother, Michael Tidwell.

My father Robert P Verbeck, Jr was Bessie's brother. I have the same birth year as Rosie. I'm Mildred Verbeck and I knew her before she moved to SC. Our paths did not cross after that as I moved in many directions. Small world, I now live in Bethea Baptist Retirement Community in Darlington, SC. If you come this way I would love to meet some of her family.
