Mrs. Rose Marie Varner, age 81, of Hatfield, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Mena. She was born January 26, 1930 in Waltonville, Illinois to the late Edward Black and Alice L. Benthall Black. She was married to the late Raymond E. Randolph December 30, 1956. On May 20, 1967, she married Walter W. Varner in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She has been a resident of rural Hatfield since 1967. She was baptized into Christ as a young girl and has been a faithful Christian, serving as an active member of the Hatfield Church of Christ. Over the years, Rose was the Charter President of the Hatfield Lioness Club, as well as President of the Lions Club, Happiness FCE and County Council. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Almira Black and two daughters: Alice Mae Randolph and Gail Francis (Bobbie) Klucker. She is survived by: Husband of 44 years, Walter W. Varner, of Hatfield Sister: Evalena F. Gilbert, of Mount Vernon, Illinois Sons: Kevin (Dalynne) Randolph of Hatfield, Arkansas Paul (Diana) Varner of Bentonville, Arkansas Eddie (Cindy) Randolph of Memphis, TN Daughter Perla (Ronny) Herron of Omaha, Texas Thirteen grandchildren, eight great grand children, and two great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hatfield Church of Christ in Hatfield, AR with her children officiating. Interment will follow at Six Mile Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, September 9, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials may be made in her name to the Southern Christian Home P.O. Box 649, Morrilton, Arkansas 72110.
