Rose Marie “Ree” Wagner, age 87, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children: Gary Wagner (Tammy), Jimmy Wagner (Jackie), Mary Beth Fritsch (Martin), Susan Lang (Tim), and Peggy Dixon (Geoff); her sister, Mary Lee Lestingi (the late Joe); and 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Ree was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a retired secretary from St. Benedict Church in Covington, where she faithfully served for many years. Ree was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Wagner; her parents, Jay and Rosemary Hornbeck; and her sister, Judy Ford (Bill).
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Barbara Church from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial, which begins at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Spina Bifida Coalition of Cincinnati and/or the LGS Foundation (Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome), at the links provided below.
