Our precious mother, sister and daughter, Roseanna, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer. She was born on August 5, 1952 to Margaret and Frank V Lopez.
Roseanna was a native Austinite. As a child, she grew up in south Austin and attended Zilker Elementary, Porter Middle School and graduated from Crockett High School in 1970. She worked Texas State Comptroller’s office. Roseanna retired in 2016 and celebrated her freedom with a trip to Hawaii. She fell in love with the crystal blue beaches surrounding the island of Oahu.
Roseanna was lively, kind, warm hearted and genuine. Her laugh was contagious and her smile bright. She was a social butterfly who made friends with anyone she met wherever she went. She loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed trying new recipes.
Roseanna was fiercely protective of her children. Her presence in our lives helped shape the adults we became. Her unconditional love gave us comfort when we needed it. She was the easiest person to talk to and confide in. We are eternally grateful to have a mom as wonderful as she was. We will miss her for a lifetime.
She leaves behind her children, Marie (Junior), Larry, Kimberley, and Chris (Diana). Her life was complete when she became a grandma and great grandma. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jeremy (Neddy), Joseph, Joshua, Jacob, Sadie and Autumn and great granddaugher Zhavia. She is survived by parents, her brother Frank and sister in law Lupe Lopez, her aunt Tina Dela Rosa, uncle Donnie Lopez, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her fur babies Milo, Watson, Lil Bit, Max, Scruffy, JC, Taylor Swift and Oreo will miss her terribly.
Roseanna was preceded in death by her sweet baby brother, Eddie Lopez and sister in law Rosa Lopez.
Our family would like to send our gratitude to Dr, Gonzalez, Dr. Sebastian, Dr. Uyeki, Dr. Whited, Dr. Oxnard, Dr. Vandross, the staff of Texas Oncology and Next Oncology for their support during the last 4 years. Tammy from Compassus Hospice was the angel we needed in her final days
