Rosemary Rothermund

Rosemary Rothermund, 81, of Barnegat passed away on November 24, 2025 at Jersey Shore Medical University. She was born and raised in Elizabeth before raising her 4 children in Belford, NJ. They enjoyed their summers in Long Beach Island until she permanently moved to Ship Bottom in 1999. She liked reading her romance novels on the beach, crabbing with the grandkids and watching old movies. Holidays were her specialty. She loved cooking and gathering the family together to make memories. She was part of a LBI recipe club, a book club in Barnegat and a huge Elvis Presley fan. Rosemary was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Rosemary was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Evans and son-in-law, John Evans. Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Joseph C. Rothermund, daughter Tricia Bjornsund and her husband William, sons Joseph Jr. and his wife Deborah and Matthew and his wife Jody, grandchildren John Evans and his wife Kristen, Sean Evans and his wife Aubrey, Scott Evans, Kayci Bjornsund, Ty Bjornsund, Jack Rothermund, Dean Rothermund and Emma Rothermund, one great-grandson Cooper Evans and her brother, Joseph Gigl and his wife Annette.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 pm and again on Tuesday, December 2nd from 10:00-10:30 am at Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 1119 Long Beach Blvd., (corner of 12th and Blvd.), Ship Bottom, NJ 08008. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Brant Beach, NJ 08008. Cremation is private.
