Whowell, Rosemary Dupont

(December 27, 1942 – August 23, 2025)

It is with sad heart we are announcing the passing of Rosemary Dupont Whowell. Born in Minneapolis on December 27, 1942 to Dr. Joseph Dupont and Helen Barrett Dupont. Rosemary married Roger David Whowell of Excelsior in 1968. She is survived by her children Susie Childers (Tom), Kathleen Whowell and her son David Whowell (Brooke). Her brothers Joseph Dupont Jr. (Dorothy), John Dupont, Patrick Dupont and sister Kathleen Dupont Griffiths (Robert). She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Alex Whowell, Collin Whowell, Madelyn Whowell as well as many nieces and nephews. Rosemary graduated from Visitation High School. She then attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1967. Rosemary moved to her home in Eden Prairie after the death of her husband and lived there for 33 years. She made wedding dresses and also organized and played Bridge three times a week. Rosemary was a very kind and loving person who was always ready to help with any problem someone would have. She had a generous heart and kindness for everyone she met. She gave freely of herself and expected nothing in return. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday (8/29) at St. Hubert Catholic Community, 8201 Main Street, Chanhassen with visitation starting at 9:30 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Shorewood.
