Rosetta Dian Smeltzer

Rosetta Smeltzer, age 79, of Chandler, AZ, passed away the morning of 01/22/2026. Rosetta was born Nov 19th 1946, in Kosciusko County, IN, the daughter of Loyal Kenneth and Ruby Bell (Weaver) Smeltzer. Along with her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sharon and Joyce, a brother, Loyal K. Smeltzer Jr (Butch) and 2 ex-husbands, Ronald Detwiler (father of Malinda) and Timothy Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Malinda Davis, siblings, Gloria and Steve; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Rosetta worked in healthcare most of her life. A great accomplishment of hers was to go back to college in her 40s and becoming a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in June of 1989. She worked as a nurse until she was injured on the job in her 50s and left the job. But she continued to be a caring person throughout her life and often used her healthcare knowledge to help others when she could. Rosetta was well known for being a kind of lovely person. Rosetta was a devout Christian and a member of Trinity Lutheran church.
