Rosetta Elizabeth Thomas, age 63, passed away surrounded by her loved ones in Green Bay on May 28, 2025. She was born in Oneida on July 18, 1961, to the late Gary Thomas and Theresa Doxtator.
She grew up in Oneida, WI with her dad and brothers. She graduated from Preble High School in 1978, and then moved to Muskogee, OK. It was there that she met her lifelong best friend Lorraine Chuculate and her lifelong partner Michael Metheny. She and Michael started a family together, having three children, Elizabeth, Michael, and Jeffrey.
Rose enjoyed taking care of people, so she became a professional caregiver for many years. She also loved taking care of her family. Family was the most important thing in her life, and no matter what happened, family was always first. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. Rose also loved Powwow music, and football, especially the Packers. She loved cooking, baking, watching movies, playing bingo, and beading.
Rose is survived by her loving partner Michael Metheny, as well as her children Elizabeth Metheny (Micheal), Michael Metheny (Melissa), and Jeffrey Metheny (Angel). She is further survived by her grandchildren, Serenity, Hailey, Aniya, Azaliah, Emahni, Jakye, Mikey, Chevy, Gary, Nova, Betty, and Angelo, as well as Julie Thomas (Tom), Pete Thomas (Mollie), Charles Natewa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Tracy Thomas, Jeffrey Thomas, and Charles Cook, and her best friend Lorraine Chuculate.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, June 3 at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere from 5:00PM – 7:00 PM. The Oneida Hymn Singers song service will begin immediately following the visitation.
