Rosette B. Dema-ala, 67, of
West Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her beloved family.
Rosette was born on January 16, 1959 in Dumangas, Iloilo, Philippines. She was the cherished daughter of Hilarion Bolivar, Sr. and Mary Angela (Realista) Bolivar. She carried with her the strong values of faith, family, and compassion throughout her life.
Rosette was married to her high school sweetheart, Romeo Dema-ala, for 38 devoted years. Together they built a life grounded in love and dedication. She was a proud and loving mother to her son, Richard Demaala, who has served 13 years on active duty in the United States Navy and is currently stationed in San Diego, California. Her greatest joy was her family and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Enrique Bolivar and his wife, Emilia; Hilarion Bolivar Jr. and his wife, Zenaida; Evelyn Din and her husband, Bell; Angela Manalang and her husband, Rico; Nenalyn Gustilo and her husband, Renato; Myrna Bolivar; and Helen Aliwalas and her husband, Rick. She was a deeply loved aunt to Peter Bolivar (Sharon); Eugene Bolivar; Richelle Winkler (Jon); Kristine Din (Joe Wong); Roxanne LaBarca (Mike); Andrew Din (Danah); Jen Spano (Anthony); Chris Bolivar; Jacquelyn Gustilo; Jonathan Aliwalas; Raina Bolivar; Lauryn Aliwalas; Jessica Gustilo, and Rachel Aliwalas, as well as many other nieces and nephews in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, and Europe. She was also a devoted and proud great-aunt to Juliana Winkler, Eloise Winkler, Angelina LaBarca, Josephine LaBarca, Carmelo LaBarca, Isla Wong, Myles Wong, and Iris Din, along with many more in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, and Europe. Rosette treasured each of them dearly. She remained closely connected to her family across the miles, always offering love, encouragement, and kindness. She was cherished and adored, and her presence in their lives was a true blessing.
Rosette worked as a dedicated Medical Technologist, serving her community with professionalism and care. Beyond her career, she found happiness in cooking, taking photos, traveling, walking along the beach, and gathering with family and friends. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and the genuine kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Rosette's love, strength, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held on Wed., March 4th from 08:30 to 09:30 at Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St.,
West Haven, CT 06516. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd.,
West Haven, CT 06516. Final interment will be held private.
