Rosie Mae Hunter Torrence Alexander, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 23, 1940, in Stephens, Arkansas, to Solon I. and Rosie Hunter, and was the youngest of nine children.

Mae accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of St. James A.M.E. Church, where she began a lifelong journey of faith. On May 22, 1964, she married Tommy Torrence, and to this union one child was born. Their marriage was filled with love until Tommy's passing on March 15, 1984. Several years later, on March 29, 1991, she married Paul Alexander and stayed by his side until her passing.

She worked for many years as a dedicated quality inspector at Amfuel in Magnolia, Arkansas, until her retirement in 2002. Most people who knew her would say that she was a straightforward person who never held anything back. If she thought it, she said it. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching old western shows, which she fondly referred to as her "shoot-'em-ups."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Solon I. and Rosie Hunter; her first husband, Tommy Torrence; all eight of her siblings-Elvin Hunter, Charles Hunter, Joseph Hunter, Jim Hunter, Wyndon Hunter, Solon P. Hunter, Opal Randall, and Evelyn Edwards; and her grandson, Keitron Hughey.

Mae leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace. She is survived by her husband, Paul Alexander; her beloved daughter, Tunda Torrence; two granddaughters, Kristal (Clayton) Richardson and Kamilah Hughey; her great-granddaughter, Khylah Hughey; and a lifelong friend, commonly referred to as her brother, Joe Todd. She is also cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Mae's life was one marked by resilience, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral service will be held at the St. James AME Church in Stephens, Arkansas. Interment will be at the Seminary Cemetery in Stephens. Date and time are as followed below.
