Rosita A. Clemente, fondly known as Rose, passed away on July 9, 2025, at her home in Orangeburg, NY surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was born on July 14, 1933, in Sta Maria Ilocus Sur, Philippines. She was the sixth of eight children of Daniel and Juana Agpalo. After graduating from North General Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 she worked as a registered nurse at Far Eastern University Hospital in Manila before coming to the United States in 1971. Her family followed her to New York in 1974 where they lived in Manhattan before moving to Rockland County in 1977. Rose was the head nurse of the intensive care unit at Beth Israel North when she retired in 1996.

Rose and her late husband, Cesar, were married for over 60 years. She leaves behind their four children: Ed (Lina), Mariza (Brian), Mae (Kevin) Mylene (Orlando); grandchildren: Christopher (Jessica), Christian (Christina), Curtis (Amanda), Coleton, Tyler, Alyxandra, Jessica, Danny (Michelle), Sabrina, Sarah, Brian (Delilah), Naomi (Isaac), Pierce and Kevin and great grandchildren: Jaiden, Jaxon, Mila, Gabrielle, Isabelle and Madeleine.

Rose was a force to reckon with. She was strong-willed, independent, caring, and generous. She was not afraid to take risks. The biggest one was leaving her family behind in the Philippines to start a career in the United States. She loved spending time with family and friends, dancing, traveling, gardening, and playing mah-jong.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, 4:30 – 8:30pm pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, NY. A Catholic Mass will be held for her funeral on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 10am at St. Catharine of Alexandria Parish in Blauvelt, NY followed by interment at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY. A celebration of life is to follow.
