Rosita Flores Garza, 74, of Tivoli, Texas, entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2025, in Port Lavaca, Tx. She was born on November 30, 1950, in Port Lavaca, Texas, to the late Alfredo Garza Sr. and Jesusa Flores Garza.
Rosita was a devoted servant of the Lord and a life-long member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tivoli, Tx. She found great joy in singing with the church choir.
Rosita lived a life of service. Whether she was cooking a meal, sharing a kind word, or caring for others, everything she did was infused with a heart full of love. Her actions reflected genuine warmth and compassion, making every moment special. Cooking wasn't just about preparing food; it was a way to express care and bring people together.
She dedicated 47 years of her life to her career as a cook at the Tex-Mex cafe in Tivoli, Texas.
Rosita was a huge fan of basketball and a die-hard Houston Rockets fan. She rarely missed tuning in to watch their televised games. She also loved attending games and supporting her hometown Austwell-Tivoli Redfish. Her most treasured moments were watching her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews take the court.
Family meant everything to Rosita. She found joy in bringing loved ones together, whether for big holiday celebrations or spontaneous weekend gatherings. Her home was always warm and welcoming, filled with laughter, delicious food, and heartfelt conversations. Rosita believed these moments created lasting memories and strengthened family bonds. Hosting was more than a duty for her-it was a passion. For Rosita, family wasn't just important; it was the heart of her happiness and the center of her life.
Rosita is survived by her sisters, Francis Garza of Tivoli, Texas, and Petra Fabela (Richard) of Alice, Texas; and her brothers, Selso Garza of La Marque, Texas, Alfredo Garza Jr. of Tivoli, Texas, Joe Garza (Beatrice) of Tivoli, Texas, Gabriel Garza (Isabel) of Tivoli, Texas, and Robert Garza (Clara) of Tivoli, Texas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Garza Sr. and Jesusa Flores Garza, and her sister, Gloria Camacho.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday October 28, 2025, at 9am with a Holy Rosary at 9:30am and a Funeral Mass to start at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tivoli Texas.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Garza, Joe Garza, Alfredo Garza Jr., Robert Garza, Gilbert Robles, and Nathaniel Robles. Honorary pallbearers are Selso Garza, Chris Camacho, Thomas Camacho, Michael Camacho, Avery Camacho, Teah Camacho, Kaidyn Camacho, Ashley Sierra, Shane Sierra, Stephanie Garza, and Molly Robles.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. George, Dr. Du, and Dr. Malik with Victoria Kidney & Dialysis, Kimberly, Kelli, Karrie and staff with DaVita Dialysis, Victoria Station, Kim, Itzel, Brianna and all the dedicated nurses with Harbor Hospice. A special thanks to all the doctors and medical staff that cared for her over the years. Rosita's legacy shall continue forever in all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her loving heart, contagious laugh, beautiful sense of humor, gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
