Roslyn E. Fletcher

Roslyn Elaine Fletcher, 83 of Vienna, VA passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Sunrise at Hunter Mill Assisted Living Residence. Born March 6, 1942, in Clearfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell C. and Teresa (Notor) Mitchell.
She was a career federal employee in the Washington, DC area and dedicated her life to public service, most notably for the Department of Justice where she was a staff member on the Warren Commission on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed serving up homemade meals to her family and friends. What brought her the most joy was her role as "Gigi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Erik Olafsson and his wife Kelly of Vienna, VA, Lisa Bongiorno and her husband Phil of Woodbridge, VA, her brothers, Melvin Mitchell and Gordon Mitchell, both of Montclair, VA, Lester Mitchell of Alexandria, VA and her sister, Margaret Grado of Ashburn, VA; four grandchildren, Julie Rafferty and her husband Jordan, Luke Olafsson and his wife Izzy, Alexandra Higgins and her husband Gary, and Phillip Bongiorno and his wife Casey, and three great grandchildren, Jude, Lucy and Annabelle Rafferty. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony, Russell, Gerald and David Mitchell and sisters, Joan Fimiani, Marian Mitchell, and Jean Cistaro.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Triangle, VA on Tuesday, December 9 at 11:00 AM. There will be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission, in Elaine's memory.
