Ross R. Nelson

Ross Richard Nelson, age 46, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 in the town of Trilla, Illinois.
Ross was born March 1, 1979 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Kris and Becky Nelson and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1998. Ross immediately obtained his CDL to begin driving dump trucks for Nelson Trucking, of which he eventually became part owner. That same year, Ross attended CVTC to obtain his refrigeration/air conditioning certification and began working alongside his dad at Nelson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. As an employee and eventual owner, Ross took great pride in the family businesses.
Ross was known for his hard work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond to help anyone and everyone, regardless of need. Ross was a well-loved and respected member of the community in the town of Menomonie and well beyond.
In 2009, Ross and his beautiful fiancé Raimi Rundle began their adventure as a family. Their three children, Cameron (11), Conrad (9), and Carson (7), were part of their crew, always busy, always smiling, and always up for adventure.
Ross loved the outdoors. He loved teaching his kids everything and anything about hunting, farming, trucks, and the blue skies. He and Raimi loved spending time in their shop with friends and their kids, neighbors, and family.
One of Ross's proudest moments was obtaining his pilot's license in 2019. Just like his grandfather, Richard, Ross soon had his own airplane and was often seen at the airport hangar or taking off to fly on a beautiful day. Flying was truly in his blood.
Ross is survived by his three children, Cameron, Conrad, and Carson Nelson, his parents Kris and Becky Nelson, sisters Ami (Bill) Suchan, Anne (Matt) Priester, the Rundle Family - Darrel, Patti, Angie (Jeff, Bailey, Carter), nieces Grace and Olivia, and nephew Wyatt, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless numbers of friends that were all so near and dear to his heart.

A Celebration of Life for both Ross and Raimi will take place on Thursday, May 8 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Lucette Brewing, 910 Hudson Road, Menomonie, WI 54751.
