Rowena Adeline Vaughn

Rowena Adeline (Longacre) Vaughn, 98, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital with family by her side.
Rowena was born on March 11, 1926, to the late Morgan and Florine (Downs) Longacre of Fairdale, KY. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Watson "J.W." Vaughn, Jr., and siblings Bill Longacre (Clem), Ted Longacre (Nan), Lora Jean Fox (Carl), Don Longacre (Marion), Jim Longacre (Darlene), Morris Longacre, Ethel Gardner, Walter Longacre, and Linda Sue Longacre. She is survived by her three daughters Sylvia Allen (Philip, deceased), Jean Cash (Gary) and Vicki Neville (Jim); seven grandchildren Bob Neville (Courtney), Allyson Allen (Chuck Smith), Maryellen Cash, Gari Lynne Grider (Justin), Jonathan Allen (Taylor), Sandi Neville, and Sara Thrasher (Donnie); seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters Bobbie Carty (Russell) and Fay Bennett (Pat, deceased), brother and sisters-in law Paul Gardner, Barbara Longacre, and Keata Longacre.
Her funeral service will be Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 am Mt. Holly Methodist Church, 804 Mt. Holly Road, Fairdale, KY. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-8:00 pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway and Friday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Holly Church.
