Roxann Thompson Obituary

A casual memorial service will be held at Crossroads Village, 6600 Constitution Blvd, Portage, MI 49024 at 2pm on Saturday Dec 16th, 2023. Food and Fellowship to follow around 3pm until 6pm in lieu of a visitation. Please join us as you are able for any or all of the above.
Roxann Lynn Thompson, age 71, was born on October 5th, 1952 in the small town of Allegan, MI where she spent most of her life. Her parents Harold and Gloria Heckman raised Roxann as the youngest of three kids along with older brother Lee Heckman and older sister Linda Miles. Roxann chose to raise her family next to her parents along with her husband of over 46 years, Harry Thompson. Their first date was a softball game and they've never been apart since. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a generous friend, and the queen of Northward's sub sandwich annual fundraiser, where she worked for many years as the head cook and part-time secretary. She is survived by her loving husband Harry, her children Jason H. Thompson (Kaitlyn Pietras), Tim Thompson (Julie) and G. Beth Schmid (Jason). Six grandchildren have grown up to call her "Grammy": Tobin, Lily, Kayla, Violet, Elijah and Ferris. Roxann's love of her family and friends has left us with a profound understanding of how powerful a close community can be, a gift we celebrate as often as possible.

So sorry to hear this. Just saw it on Facebook. Roxann was a special lady who loved her family so much. I have many good memories of her while she was at North Ward. My sympathy to Harry, and to Jason, Tim, and Beth and their families,
who I know will miss her greatly!
