Roy Herman Bell Jr.

Roy Herman Bell, Jr., 90, of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Born on November 11, 1935, in Felton, Delaware, Roy was the son of the late Roy Allan Bell and Mabell Hannah (Hurd) Bell.

Roy dedicated 44 years of loyal service to Townsend Bros. Chevrolet, where he built lasting friendships and took great pride in his work. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and the genuine connections he formed throughout his career.

Above all, Roy was a loving and devoted husband and family man. He cherished his 61 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Evelyn Fay Bell. In his spare time, Roy found joy in flounder fishing and peaceful days spent boating on the water. He was rarely idle, always tinkering around the house or immersed in a new project. Gifted with creativity and skilled hands, Roy crafted a detailed dollhouse and proudly sold his handmade Bell crafts at several local malls. His craftsmanship and dedication were evident in everything he created.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Ruth (Porter) Bell (Wife), Joseph C. Bell (Brother), and Sealenia Bell (Sister).

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Evelyn Fay Bell; his son, Mark Bell (Lori); his daughters, Mary (Daniel Jr.) Zeman, Robin (Greg) Kitchens, and Patty (Ray) Sherman; his grandchildren, Mark Bell Jr., Joeann Fountain, Daniel Zeman III, Amanda Davis, Samantha Harrall, Brian Bell, and Ryan Sherman; and his great-grandchildren, Hannah Harrall, Teyla Zeman, Charlotte Fountain, Logan Davis, Audrey Davis, Hailli Harrall, Madilena Zeman, Bennett Sherman, Rosalie Davis, Brooks Sherman, Liam Bell, and Ryder Bell. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service.
