Roy Irvin Chamberlain

Roy Irvin Chamberlain died at his home in Cottontown, TN, on January 7th, 2026. He was born on November 13th, 1952, in Madison, Tennessee, to Roy and Adelee Chamberlain. Roy was known to family and friends by his middle name, Irvin.

Irvin founded and ran multiple businesses throughout his lifetime, including Sound Advice, a mobile ultrasound imaging company that provided cutting-edge ultrasound imaging to Hospitals, OBGYN offices, midwives, veterinary clinics, and even for animal breeders (Show Dogs, Horses etc..) throughout Kentucky and Tennessee that otherwise had little to no access to ultrasound technology, but his favorite group he provided his expertise to was his family. Starting with his son all the way to great-nieces and nephews, he was the first person to see them. He also founded and invested in R&R Rental, which was a family-run business that rented large equipment to the community.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lawrence Chamberlain, and his nephew, Reed Chamberlain. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Laura Chamberlain, his two children Richard Barrett Chamberlain (Stacey), Rachel Lynn LaRoy (Chris), four grandchildren (Ashton Lee, Alec Chamberlain, Reagan LaRoy, Ryland LaRoy), and one great grandchild (Olivia Lee) as well as his mother Adelee Chamberlain, three younger brothers Lonnie Ray Chamberlain (Kay) Donald Eugene Chamberlain (Brenda) & Terry Lee Chamberlain (Lynette).

Irvin enjoyed multiple hobbies throughout his lifetime, including working and caring for many animals, including Llamas, babydoll sheep, and miniature donkeys at Spin a Yarn farm, which he built in Cottontown, TN. His other passions were snow skiing, scuba diving, painting, and riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Family and friends will gather to remember Irvin at a Celebration of Life on 01/17/2026 at 10:00 am at 779 Shun Pike, Cottontown, TN 3704

In place of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to the Nashville Zoo, a place that held special meaning for Irvin, where he spent many years caring for animals through his work in ultrasound.
