Roy Jones Dickey

Roy Jones Dickey passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. He was 86 years old.

He was a devoted husband, stepfather, war hero, and friend. An avid fisherman who once boasted, "You know how they say 10% of the fisherman catch 90% of the fish? Well, I'm in that 10%."

Roy served in the US Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. He was awarded the Gallantry Cross with Palm for valor or heroic conduct while in combat with the enemy in South Vietnam. After retiring from the USAF, Roy worked 20 plus years for the Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base. He spent the last few years taking care of Kuniko, his wife of 51 years, who recently passed away after a long illness.

Roy was born in Freeport, located in the Florida panhandle to Elmer and Emanual Dickey. He was one of 4 boys and had 6 sisters. He is survived by his 4 stepchildren, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Special thanks to the staff at Homestead of Del City and Good Shepherd Hospice for taking such good care of Roy. A memorial service is scheduled for February 11, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association Oklahoma Chapter.
