January 21, 2017
Roy and his family were a major signpost in our family's history. An amazing pastor with a loving family who pointed us in the way of Jesus and encouraged us to follow our Lord. Our world is a lesser place because of Roy's passing, but heaven is richer and we live in faith and hope.

Our loss, and Heaven's gain.
Roy was our pastor long enough to leave not only a lasting memory but also an inspiration. We were so thankful that he lived so long and was the guiding light for so many. He was a precious flower in our garden. We will greatly miss him.
With much love and honor,

My deepest sympathy to all 3 daughters and family. I knew Pastor Roy as a member of First Wayne Street UMC and always enjoyed hearing him preach. He was so devoted to your mom, Helen and was a great witness of his faith. I witnessed him caring for your mom and making sure she got to all her church activities when she was wheelchair bound. He took great care of her. My deepest sympathy to Christine, his current wife and her family as well.
I loved watching from a distance his conversations with his dear friend, Bishop Duecker. They loved their coffee, donuts and being friends. I can just see Bishop Deucker, his wife, your mom sitting at a table with the best coffee and donuts ready for another delightful, but meaningful conversat

"Brother Eaton" was a favorite pastor of our family in Centreville, Mississippi. My father had mentioned that he would like to have Roy preach at his funeral. Unfortunately, that didn't work out, but I and my siblings have great memories of "Brother Eaton" and are saddened to learn of his passing.

Roy was such a positive influence to the youth in our Centreville, MS Methodist Church. He and Helen spent many hours "leading" us. He was missed when they left Centreville, as I'm sure he is missed by his family and many friends today.

Roy was a fine man and the light of God shown in his face. It was such a pleasure to get to talk with him. Being a neighbor in Arlington Park and a member of First Wayne St. U M Church, it happened often. He will be missed.
