Roy Finney Obituary
Roy was married to Sheila (Willis) Finney from 1966 to 1994 and had one child, Leigh Alexandra Finney. The family settled in Leesburg, Virginia where Roy had a business in disaster restoration and worked in that venue until his retirement in 2003.
Roy retired to Punta Gorda, Florida in 2003 where he and his betrothed, Eileen (Wood) Finney were married in February of 2005.
Roy was a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He loved life, enjoyed people, dancing, tennis, his "Martini Hour", and telling jokes to all. Roy will be missed by his beloved wife, Eileen Finney; his daughter, Leigh (Ben) Lawrynas; granddaughter, Alex Lawrynas; Stepson, Colby (Catherine) Buswell and granddaughter, Aurora Buswell; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy Finney and Grace (Foster) Finney, and grandson, Nikolas Lawrynas.
The family would like to thank Mobile Physician Services, Aging and Adult Services of Charlotte County, Alternative Homemaking with a Heart, A Perfect Choice Home Care, Affinity Care Hospice of Charlotte & Desoto, and Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home for their assistance and care of Roy.
A ceremony will be held in his memory at a later date.
