Kathy and Family, Will was deeply saddened to hear about Roy's passing. Though they went in two different directions after high school, Will would often reminisce about those great times with his high school friend, Roy Goldsmith. We extend our thoughts and prayers to all of you that your memories will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Love, Will and Leslie Carpenter

As a fellow Barnes Associate I will always remember the good times competing in golf matches with Roy. Despite my efforts to rig foursome s in my favor he still managed to win $20 from me on one occasion and had me sign it. He promptly framed and hung it behind his desk at the office. My condolences to his family.

To Kathy and Family, when I think about Roy, the word "good" comes to my mind. By all accounts, he was a "good" husband, family man and worker. He was all about having a "good" time and we shared many at Barnes Aerospace HQs. Upon meeting Roy, with a few exceptions, that person became a "good" friend. He liked "good" food, wine and music. He liked a "good" laugh and often told "good" stories. So Roy, now that you have transitioned beyond the earthly bounds, I know that you are sharing "good" stories with the angels and they are having a "good" laugh! The heavenly wine keeper is probably being told about "good" wines too!

Dear Kathy & Family - I am so sorry to learn of Roy's recent passing. He and I ran together during the summers while I was running collegiate track & cross-country in the mid-80's. He took me on a number of Appalachian Trail runs that rank among the most challenging of my lifetime. I often reflect upon training with Roy in the Berkshires and remember him as one of the most selfless influences I was blessed to connect with on the roads. I regret not having reached out sooner to tell him what a positive impact he had on my development. I have no words to express my sympathy for your loss - only fond memories of a wonderful man I feel blessed for having known if only for a short time. Sincerely, Mark Aldam

Like many of us we all go different directions and at times we inquire about old friends. Roy and I, along with my wife worked with Roy at GE for several years, despite the distance Roy was and will always be a friend or ours. Best of thoughts for the family, god bless.

John, we are so sad to hear of Roy's passing. He was fun to talk to in our group at GE. Always a bright outlook on everything, which helped him reach the position he got to in life, both professionally and personal. Tony & Mary

Kathy, John
So sorry to read about Roy's passing. We were teammates in the GEAA and Dalton fast pitch leagues back in the 70's. Roy was a fanatical "Brewer". One of the fiercest competitors I've ever known. The moniker "Superman" certainly fits. Although we'd lost touch over the years I always knew he would be one of many accomplishments. Rest In Peace my friend.
