Roy Hogan Obituary
Roy A. Hogan, 82, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on
Tuesday, March 24, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at St.
Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Paradis, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 12:00 pm with burial to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Des
Allemands.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Plaisance Hogan; son, Chris A. Hogan (Jennifer);
daughters, Angela H. Bergeron (Chris) and Tiffany H. Soulie (Bryan);
grandchildren; Amber, Dalynn, Zachary, Hunter, Sophie, Lindsey and Megan;
brother, Morris “Bucky” Matherne and sisters, Geraldine Mahan, Beatrice Barbier,
Sandra Yokum, Deborah Daigle and Brenda Rosko.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Hogan and Velma Candies Hogan; raised by
Morris & Alta Matherne. Brothers, Lynn “Boz” Hogan and Charles Matherne; sisters, Betty
Dufrene, Faye Powell, Rosalie Beadle and Linda Plaisance.
Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing. He loved spending time with his family; the love he
had for his wife, children and grandchildren was unmatched. He always showed up for the ones
he loved, he never missed a beat. He was content, humble, and grateful for the life he lived. He
showed us what it meant to be a good person simply by the way he lived every single day. He
will be missed more than words can say, but we are forever grateful for the time we had with
him.
