Roy L. Jones

Roy L. Jones, 79, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri. A graveside inurnment service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the Vansant Road Cemetery in Clinton. Memorial contributions can be made to the Clinton Senior Center and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Roy was a hard worker, working at Peabody coal in the early 60s to 1980 as a welder and worked at Tracker boats for a short time as a welder. He also worked for St. Clair County as a jailor for a year, and then Schrieber Foods until he retired at the age of 62.

Roy was an amazing husband, father, brother grandpa, and friend. He was a comical fun-loving guy. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and spending time outside watching wildlife. He liked playing cards, and dominos. He loved his family most of all. He was well loved and will be missed greatly.

Roy was survived by his wife of the home Penny Jones, and 1 sister Frances Trenary & Larry of Clinton, Missouri, 5 children; Candy Foster & James of Clinton, Missouri, Doug Jones of Warsaw, Missouri, Jamie Jones of Clinton, Missouri, Amanda Jones of Apalachicola, Florida, and Andy Jones of Clinton, Missouri, three step children; Jamie & Christie Foster of Clinton, Missouri, Jeremy Foster of Clinton, Missouri, Joleana Foster of Springfield, Missouri, 13 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, along with numerous niece and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elijia and Anna Mae Jones, 3 brothers: James Earl Jones, Joeseph Jones and Cinda, Robert Jones and Evonne and one sister Peggy Cox and Bill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
