Roy Knickerbocker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 13, 2026.
Roy G. Knickerbocker from Kirkwood, New York passed away on March
10th at the age of 61. Roy lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to
family, and a stubborn determination to get things done just right.

Roy was the kind of man who always seemed to have the answers. Whether
you needed advice, a helping hand, or someone to lean on–he was there
without hesitation. He was knowledgeable, dependable, and willing to roll
up his sleeves for anyone who needed him. If he had an opinion about how
something should be done, well, you were going to hear it–and more often
than not, he was right.

He spent 15 years working at 88-B.C. Building Supplies in Nineveh, NY
where his strong work ethic earned the respect of those around him. On
some weekends he could be found doing garage door work alongside his
youngest son, Jeremy–turning even a side job into quality time with family.

When Roy wasn't working, he was doing what he loved most. Camping was
his passion, and there was nothing better than relaxing at camp with family,
friends, and his two dogs–Smoky and Tanner. He loved driving his buggy,
tinkering in his garage with Pandora playing in the background, and never
missing a NASCAR race. But above all, Roy considered his family his
greatest accomplishment, and the time he spent with his wife, children, and
grandchildren meant more to him than anything

Roy is survived by his wife; Michele Knickerbocker, his daughter; Angela
(Steven) Bevis, and his sons; Bill and Jeremy Knickerbocker, his nine
grandchildren; Megan and Mackenzie Scott, Levi and Nevaeh Bevis, Kruze
Caleb, Isabella, and Connor Knickerbocker, and Toby Root. His brothers;
Billy, Leon, and Mark Knickerbocker, his sister Amie Reilly, and
stepmother Donna Knickerbocker.

Roy was predeceased by his parents Robert and Darla Knickerbocker, his
twin grandchildren Ayden and McKenna Knickerbocker, and his sister
Cathy Knickerbocker.

There will be no funeral services at this time.

"Roy is no longer beside us, but he is still woven into everything we do and
everything we are. He will forever remain in our hearts."
