Roy L. "Pat" McMillan

Roy L. "Pat" McMillan, 101, formerly of Pleasant Plains, IL passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2023 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Pat was born on the family farm in Sangamon County on March 16, 1921 and was the son of Albert Roy and L. Ethel (Davison) McMillan.
Pat graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1939. He married Juanita Barnett on November 25, 1943, Thanksgiving Day. Juanita and Pat were married for 79 years; she preceded him in death on January 25, 2023.
When he was a younger man, Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was a member of the Pleasant Plains Masonic Lodge for 80 years. However, Pat was a farmer all of his life.
He was also active in the 1st Church of God in Springfield. Pat was a very easy going person.
Pat is survived by his children, Suzanne McMillan and Michael (Bonnie) McMillan; grandchildren, Julia Marino, Khourtney (Micah) Miller, and Jaclyn (Nathan) Dold; great grandchildren, Brady and Bodie.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and three sisters, Ruth, Kathryn, and Norma.
Visitation will be on Friday February 24, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00am and burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale, IL.
Pastor Jay Kroft will be presiding.
