Obituary of Roy David Pine
Pine, Roy D.
Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Promedica Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Bay City. He was 93 years old. Roy David Pine was born June 9, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Floyd and Mildred (Melick) Pine. He married Lois Baumer at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Zilwaukee. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Roy was employed by the Sheet Metal Workers Local 7-3, retiring in 1997 after many years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for many years.
Roy loved going to the horse races and taking trips to the casino. He also enjoyed playing card games. Roy was an avid Tigers fan. But, what he really loved most was spending time with his family.
Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Scales; brother, Lloyd Pine, and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; son in-law, Bob Scales; siblings, William Bud Joseph, Edith, Ed and Elsie.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard A. Bokinskie will officiate. Committal service to follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and VFW Post # 7302.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Promedica Hospice.
