In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Tipton, June Tipton, and Kay Tipton.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Deloris Tipton; daughters, Connie Bachman and husband Frank, and Sherry Townsend and husband Howard; grandchildren, Julie Burke and husband Joel, Nathan Bachman and wife April, Mary Beth Street and husband Dayton, Madison Johnson and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Levi, Eli, Kate, Alice, Asher, and Paisley; sisters, Jewell Vanzant and husband Bud, and Cletia Moore; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jimmy Tipton and Pastor Benny Spears officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Tipton family.
