Roy Michael Winstead, affectionately known as Mike, was born on November 7, 1970, in Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life on January 5, 2026, in his hometown, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and an unwavering willingness to help others.
Mike built a successful career as a drywall contractor with R & W Drywall, where his craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect of many in his field. Known for his funny and caring demeanor, he had a distinctive way of brightening the days of those around him. He was genuinely the type of person who would do anything for anyone, easily making friends with his warm personality.
Beyond his work, Mike had interests that brought him joy and comfort. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed cheering for The Cincinnati Bengals. Mike found great satisfaction in tinkering with various items, often disassembling and rebuilding things, which showcased his hands-on approach to life. Anything he put his mind to doing he would do it. His curiosity and passion for mechanics were evident in both his personal pursuits and his professional endeavors.
Mike is survived by his loving family, including his mother Christine Winstead, son Cameron Michael (Brittany) Winstead, grandson Nolan Alexander Winstead, and his beloved siblings Linda (Paul) Lusk and Theresa (Jerry) Walters. He shared cherished moments with his nephews Rick (Stacie) Osborne and Jonathan Chastain, nieces Rachel (Justin) Roth and Jordan Chastain, great-niece Corinna Roth, and great-nephew Noah Roth. Their lives were enriched by the love and wisdom Michael shared over the years.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, yet they find solace in remembering the indelible impact he made in their lives. Mike was preceded in death by his father Roy Winstead, brother Gregory Winstead, and nephew Samuel Osborne.
The visitation for Mike will be held on January 16, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. The funeral service will follow immediately, beginning at 3:00 PM, officiated by pastor Rick Asa Osborne.
Roy Michael Winstead's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of goodwill and generosity remains a guiding light for his family and friends.
