Royce E. Vanover Sr.

ROYCE E. VANOVER, SR. age 77, of Goldvein, VA died Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Mr. Vanover was born 29 August 1929 in Darwin, VA. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a manager for Acme and Safeway stores throughout Northern Virginia for more than 30 years. Royce was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening after his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lila Lee Vanover; five children, Royce Vanover, Jr. of Goldvein, VA, Rhonda E. Vanover of Manassas, VA, Rodney Vanover of Berthoud, CO, Randy Vanover of Nokesville, VA and Raymond Vanover of Arlington, VA; five siblings, Kyle Vanover of Spotsylvania County, VA, Lee Vanover of Caroline County, VA, Lynn Vanover of Clintwood, VA, Wilma Lockhart of Manassas, VA and Carolyn Carson of Caroline County, VA and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, August 17, 2007 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, August 18. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
